The National Association of Recovery Residences was officially formed on May 24, 2011. Arcuria was proud to be a part of the conference that started it all. During the two day event we, along with other agencies nation wide collaborated to refine the Association mission statement, vision statement, and the foundation of what will become the nation wide standards for Recovery Residences, known in California as Sober Living Environments.
The interim board has been elected and the members are working hard to continue the work, with the assistance of committees, to refine the standards which will be brought to individual states for support. The goal of having nation wide standards, in conjunction with some kind of certification, is to reduce the ability of cities and citizens from complaining that there are no standards for Recovery Residences and nobody to report issues to.
